Today was the first day of classes, and boy is it good to be back in the swing of things! Every morning at 9, Loren and I have Math 101. The professor is from Georgia, so she has a bit of a southern accent, but her parents were from Minnesota, so she also has that accent as well and the two on top of each other make for a very interesting voice to listen to. Which is good I suppose, since otherwise I wouldn't pay attention at all. Math is not my subject.
That was done at 10, then I had a break until 11 while I waited for my first English class. I used the break to go to the store to buy the books I'm going to need for this English class, and holy crow I didn't expect them to be so much! $97 for 3 books. And that's just one class! But they're textbooks, and I can't get them from the library so I suppose buying them had to be done. The class itself (English 302 - Poetry and Poetics) is going to be a fun one. It's with the same professor I had Creative Writing with back in Fall, so it's nice to have a professor that I know. We're going to be talking a lot of poetry and getting into the nitty gritty details of stressed and unstressed syllables and meter and rhyme and blah blah blah, but it should be entertaining and at least it's all information that I'll use in the future!
Tomorrow I have math again, then right after that at 10 I have the other English class, English 303. I'm not sure what the title of it is.
OH, and my grades for last quarter were 2 B's, and an A in math! Woohoo! I'm really trying for all A's this quarter, especially since math is easy for me and the English classes should be interesting (in theory).
