Alright, so signing up for spring quarter was a nightmare. Just about every class I wanted to take was gone, so here is what I got:
9 am every day: Anthropology 110 - Biological Anthropology
1 pm every day except Wednesday: English 105 - Introduction to Literature
6:30 pm only on Mondays: Theater 101 - Introduction to Theatre
11 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays: Bowling :)
so that's 14 credits. I wanted to take a science in place of Intro to Theatre, but all the biology and geology classes for freshmen were filled up already :( But oh well I suppose I'll just have to take those next year. Wednesdays are going to be the bestest days, since I only have anthropology and it's done by 10! What will I do with all my time while all my friends are in class on that day?! Probably study/go on long runs or walks I suppose :)

blahhh
I've been doing lots of yoga lately in an attempt to stop my calves from being super stiff. Ran a mile in Loren's vibrams last night, and I was super sore, but the more yoga I do the better it feels so that's what I've been doing.
Today I only have 2 classes and then right after my Anthropology class I have to get back to my dorm super quick so I can register for Spring quarter classes.
This year is going by so fast I can hardly believe it! Soon it's going to be summer! My plan for summer is to work at a daycare thing with the Issaquah School District. Apparently it pays super well, and it would be a good 9 to 3 or 8 to 3 job. As far as having fun goes, I'm planning on doing a lot of hiking. There's a book in the wildcat store here that is just purely hikes in Washington, and there's 100 of them. I've already done a few with my dad. My goal is to do all of them by the time I'm done with college.

vibram update
Last night a group of my friends went to the gym to play kickball, and since I'm not a huge fan of kickball I borrowed Loren's Vibrams and ran around the track while they played.
I ran 7 laps, just one lap short of a mile, and walked probably about 4 laps after that. My calves are a teeny tiny bit sore, but other than that, I feel great!
I have to say, running in those shoes makes me feel like I could run so much farther than in my usual running shoes. In any pair of shoes I've ever ran in, I've always felt really bogged down by the heaviness of the shoes. But these are so lightweight I feel like I'm bouncing on springs! It feels way better, because instead of landing on your heels which sends a shock through your entire leg, you land more on the balls of your feet so you naturally spring forward.
It's great! I didn't want to give Loren his shoes back, and I definitely don't want to run in my shoes anymore... Luckily Loren just ordered a new pair of Vibrams and he said I could use either the new ones or his old ones until I can get a pair :)

More nice weather!
Looks like another week of sunny weather here, at least for now anyway...
Last night Kara, Rose, Loren and I went over to Nathan's dorm and played Super Mario on his computer for a few hours. He has a mega Where's Waldo book with pretty much every single Where's Waldo ever made so I sat there and found Waldo about 50 times while they all played. It was definitely entertaining. Then I came back to my dorm at about 10:30 and wrote a really bad paper for English. My attempt at organization failed. But today I got my last English paper back and I got 147 out of 150 on it, so that was a plus!
I register for spring quarter classes on the 25th, so that's coming up pretty fast. I'm planning on taking Biological Anthropology, Humanities or another English class, maybe another Philosophy class and then I'm definitely taking Bowling. Kara, Loren, Nathan and I are all going to try and enroll in the same bowling class. Should be interesting :)
Finally saw The Shawshank Redemption. That's such a great movie! I can't believe I had never seen it before. Also on Friday Kara, Rose, and I went and saw Shutter Island which I thought was pretty good as far as psychological thrillers go. It kinda made my brain hurt because there were so many twists to it and every time I thought I got the plot right, it would change again. But I love movies like that, so perhaps more cynical movie viewers shouldn't listen to me.
I'm going to try barefoot running on the indoor track tomorrow morning, if the people there will let me. I'm not sure if they have any rules against it or not, but I suppose we'll find out...If anyone tries to stop me, maybe I'll just spit out a whole bunch of facts from Lieberman's study, or tell them I'm training for a super huge ultramarathon. I wonder if anyone would believe me, haha.
In a few minutes I'm heading off to my last class of the day and then perhaps to play soccer or frisbee or something other than sitting in my room web surfing.

Here comes the weekend!!
2 classes today, and then a lot of relaxing to be done! This weekend is going to be one of the first awesome weekends in quite a while, mainly because I have so little to do and the weather is sunny! Except it's still cold out, but it's perfect frisbee and soccer playing weather!
This morning I got up pretty early to go run around the inside track a bit, and on my walk there it was 24 degrees outside! Hopefully it warms up to how it has been the past few days so I can wear shorts.
Yesterday we were playing frisbee on the lawn in front of my friend's dorm and Loren hit me in the back of the leg with it so hard I have a big welted bruise now. Very pretty.
Tonight in Kara's dorm (since she has a 4-person suite thing) we're having a huge sleepover. We're going to move the mattresses into the living room area and all sleep out there! Then tomorrow we're planning on all going to see Shutter Island, which I've heard is fairly good.
OH, for all you runners out there who may or may not read this, have you heard of these shoes? Loren and my other friend Jarrod have them and say they're really great. Vibram FiveFingers
I'm thinking of getting a pair soon to run in, because after reading a bit of this book, Born to Run, I've been anxious to try running more. The book talks a lot about how naturally we're built to run but with the special athletic shoes we wear these days we end up getting more injuries than we should.

Funtastic!
This weekend I went home with Loren to Vashon Island and spent the weekend at his parents' house. It was really fun, we drove around the island, and on Monday before we caught the ferry to come back to school we walked about 3 miles through the woods.
The weather this week is so pretty back in Ellensburg! It's almost 60 degrees right now, and not too windy. Nice and sunny, so my friends and I are about to go play some soccer on the lawn in front of their dorm.
This week is looking to be pretty busy. I have a test on Friday in Anthropology, and lots of reading to do for that class as well.

ouchhh
Hiked up to the water tower 2 nights in a row! Yesterday I went with Rose and Loren, and tonight I went with just Kara. We stood up there for a while and looked at the view, then we walked down the opposite side we came up and walked around the neighborhood for awhile. Twas nice, but now my thighs are tired.
I finally figured out who I'm going to room with for next year. It's going to be me, Loren, and our friend Alex in our apartment, and then we're going to have Kara and Rose as neighbors. Now I just have to figure out all this cosigner stuff and see if they'll let me bring Sunny maybe.
Oh yeah and one more thing, CONGRATS SAINTS!

ughh
I have literally done nothing today. Got up, ate a muffin, came back to my room, did yoga for half an hour, and since then I haven't done anything else except sit in my room.
I'm sick of winter. It's ruining my fun. I can't wait for spring so it will be warm enough to actually enjoy being outside.

killa!
Writing an English paper right now. Tis a critique of an article, I'm feeling kinda confident about it, it's gonna be KILLA!
Haha, wait until I get the peer review sheets back, I'll probably find that it's not as good as I think it is. Oh well.
I'm kiiiinda hyper. kinda. Rockin' out to some dance beats. CAN'T FOCUSSSS

reflecting.
How can you possibly
Look my way and not feel guilty?
How can you think you've won the prize
When you didn't win it honestly?
How can you go along with your life
Knowing the people that you've stepped on?
How can you expect me to stick around
When I've been a long time gone?
It has been a rocky couple years. I'm so glad to be where I am, and I'm starting to realize how glad I am that things have changed to where they are because honestly if the way things used to be had kept on going, it would be weird. I mean, I was happy then, and I'm sure that if things had continued on that path I'd be happy now, but I'm not sure it would be in the same way.
Lots of memories come with regret and anger. But the memories I'm making now are about to flood over all those and clean the slate for even better ones to come.
