Soooo Christmas was pretty awesome! Got a super cool backpack from Debbie with built in speakers, super cool acoustic guitar from dad, super awesome green jacket from mom, lots of starbucks giftcards and some cash!
ALSO big point of news, I am typing this from my NEW LAPTOPPPPPPPP!!!! GLEEE! It's amazing, sooo much nicer and faster and shinier and smaller and betterererer! Loves it!! Major huge thanks to Paul for taking me from office depot to fry's to best buy BACK to office depot again to finally get it!! They keyboard is way easier to type on than my old computer too.
Plans for New Years Eve include going to the Aqua Club (whatever that is) to see my friend Kara's cousin's band play and then we'll probably go find something else to do. Then New Year's day the plan is to go skiing at Snoqualmie. Heading back to school on Sunday.
Much thanks to everyone for Christmas presents/money! Thank you cards will be sent out shortly :)

wooot
Last night I went over to Paul's on Mercer Island to watch all the christmas boats sail by! It was really fun, and there were a lot more boats than I thought there would be!
Today I sat around and worked on a REALLY hard puzzle all day. It' now almost half done and I'd probably have it done by tomorrow if I didn't have to go to work...
I can't wait for next week, I actually have plans! Monday I'm going to Sky High with some friends, and then Tuesday I'm going to downtown Seattle with Loren and whoever else is going. Wedneday I'm going to have friends over to decorate Christmas cookies and hang out! Can't wait

sleeeepy....
I'm super tired after a long day of work... And tomorrow is going to be even longer! But it's a lot of fun, and I get to see a lot of my friends up there so it's all good! Today I didn't bring up my skis or boots because I didn't think I'd have much time to ski, but I'm definitely going to tomorrow since I get off of work about an hour before the lifts close, and that would give me time to do about 9 or 10 runs after work, not to mention the hour before work, I could probably get some in too.
I'm back at home now, just hanging out, relaxing after spending all day being social! Blarg. Can't wait for the weekend to be over so I can hang out with friends and decorate the Christmas tree and whatnot!
I'm going to post pics of the hats I made soon! I made a bright neon colored one that I wore to work today and everyone complimented me on it! I guess it was even cooler than I thought it would be :)

in other news...
I just crocheted my first hat! I'm gonna wear it pretty much all of winter break so don't be surprised to see me wearing a hat in every single picture that I may or may not post on here
woohoo!
Woohoo only one more final to go! So far I think I've done pretty well on my other finals. My english paper is a little short but I got the point across and that's the point of a paper isn't it? History, I was the first one to finish the test, which I'm not sure I did too fantastic on, but my essay should make up for it. And then tomorrow I have philosophy final and then I'm coming home on Friday! Woohoo!
Right now I'm packing up stuff to bring home with me for the break. Gotta take clothes, rice cooker, skis and work uniform... Lotsa stuff to take!

woot!
Work on Saturday was super fun! Alpental wasn't very crowded, so basically I just stood at the bottom for 6 and a half hours scanning the same 15 or so people over and over again. The snow on Friday night wasn't very good, and it wasn't very good for the people skiing and boarding on Saturday, but it's been dumping snow up there all night so whoever is up there today is pretty lucky!
On Thursday I went over to my friend's and saw that her mom had sent her an advent calendar and I was like, "Awww I've always had these!" and then later that night when I went to check my mail guess what was in it?? An advent calendar! Huzzah!
Today will be spent cleaning up my mess of a room, and tomorrow will be spent studying for finals. Part of today is going to be spent studying for finals too

Work!
So my friend Kara got an e-mail from our boss asking her to work on Friday, but I didn't so Loren and I are going to go up there with her and ski/board around while she's working. And then I got an e-mail from the boss saying that I'm scheduled to work at Alpental from 8:30-3 on Saturday! Sweeeet, finally going to get some hours!! I'm really excited to go skiing tomorrow, it will be the first time of the season!
Finals are next week... Going to be studying hard sunday through tuesday and then wednesday I have my history final and I also have to turn in my paper for english on that day too. Thursday I have my philosophy final, and then I'm probably going to leave for home on friday the 11th.

Crotchet?
Today I attempted to crochet a hat and I got pretty far until it came time to try and make the brim, but I don't know what I was doing wrong because it just kept getting wider and wider and wider instead of going down to make the brim. Online instructions are no help, they aren't very specific.
In about an hour I'm going to go get lunch and then I'm going to walk to Safeway to get some bagels and oatmeal (that isn't the reduced sugar kind) and chips and salsa. Then I have to work on my English final paper and then I have nothing else to do! Swwwweeeeet!
No news from the Summit on any work hours yet, but I'm going to volunteer to work Christmas day I think since Christmas day always sucks for me anyway.

thanksgiving
Hope everyone had a fantastical holiday!
I went to Ocean Shores with my dad and stepmom and a couple of their friends for Thanksgiving. It was super fun to be at the ocean! The only problem with it was that there was no internet, so I wasn't able to work on a HUGE history paper that I have to do. It's due tomorrow and so far all I have is an outline. But no worries! I work best under pressure (or so I'd like to think).
So now I'm sitting in Starbucks in Bellevue waiting for mom to be done with church and then I will be back at Ellensburg! Lots of work to do once I get back there, I'll probably be up all night!

Home!
Leaving for home in about half an hour! I'm frantically trying to pack up all the things I'll need. I'm going to be home for a night, and then my dad is picking me up wednesday night and we are leaving for Ocean Shores early thursday morning! I'm super excited, I haven't been to Ocean Shores in quite awhile!
I have a lot to do for school while I'm there though... I have to study for finals and write a final paper for my history class. Luckily I'll have my dad there to help on that since he knows so much about American History!
Hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Snoqualmie!
Today was the Summit at Snoqualmie training day for ticket scanners. Kara and I left here at about 6:50 in the morning, got there at about 7:45, and then waited around for a bit for the training to start at 8. For the first part we sat around inside and read a packet, and then we went to Summit West to get uniforms. After that we learned how to work the scan guns, and then they put us out in the lines to try it out. It was pretty easy, and super fun to talk to all the people. I think it's going to be a fun job :)
Now I am super exhausted and I'm going to take a shower and sleep. Or maybe the other way around, I'm not sure.

Ick
When I went shopping last week I bought the reduced sugar oatmeal instead of the regular kind by accident and it is significantly less delicious.
Yesterday after Kara and I were done with our classes, we drove up to Snoqualmie so that she could drop off some paperwork and have a job up there. The road wasn't NEARLY as bad as everyone was making it out to be, there were only a couple places with slush on the road. Summit West was the only place open as of yesterday, but it looks like Summit Central is going to open soon, and Alpental is getting close as well. Seeing all the snow yesterday, and seeing the people at West skiing just made me want to ski even more!! AGH I'm freaking out!!
Then yesterday night at 7 we went to the first men's basketball game of the season, which was pretty cool. Central won by a lot. After the game was over I went back to my dorm to get ready for the midnight showing of the new Twilight movie, New Moon. We got to the movie theatre at 10 and the line for the movie was wrapped around the backside of the movie theatre! They didn't start playing the movie until 12:30, which made a lot of people mad, but it was still pretty fun to wait around. We played games on Kara's iPhone.
New Moon was a lot better than Twilight. Kristen Stewart actually showed some emotion and Taylor Lautner was hot stuff :) I don't know if I'm Team Edward or Team Jacob anymore (this is all really nerdy, I know) because reading the books I was Team Edward, but now that the wolves are all so hot in the movies, it makes me lean a little more Team Jacob. GAH I'm conflicted!
OK enough about that! Today I'm going to class and doing laundry. yaaaaaay...?

Winter Classes
I signed up for my classes today and got everything I had planned on taking!
At 9 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I have English 102, and then at 9 on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have IT 101, which is a basic skills required computer course. Then on Mondays at 10 I have a Psychology Lab session. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays I have Psychology 101 at 11. Then every day of the week at 1 I have Anthropology 130.
Pretty cool! I know Kara and I both have IT, Psych, and English together for sure this quarter, so at least I'll know someone in those classes.

blarg
Today is a lazy day. Only have 2 classes, lots of reading to do for my history class, so I'm just holed up in my room doing that pretty much all day today.
I wrote a new poem today in history, it should be up on my fictionpress account now. I'm not sure if it's all that awesome, but it certainly got what I was feeling out of my head and that's the making of a good poem in my opinion.
Yesterday Rose and Kara and I walked to the movie theatre on the other side of town and bought our tickets for the midnight showing ofNew Moon this Thursday, which should be pretty fun. After we got the tickets we walked to Safeway and I bought a couple pomegranates to add to my current fruit collection. Then we got back to school, and I took a nap until our friend Tom's soccer games, which his team won both of. His team is SO intense and has really good players, so it's always fun to watch and cheer them on.
Last night was too cloudy to watch the meteor shower (DISAPPOINTMENT) so instead Loren came over and we watched The Fifth Element on his laptop and had kettle corn. Twas a good movie!
Tomorrow I sign up for next quarter's classes! Can't wait to see what I'll get!

fun times!
Yesterday my dad and stepmom came over! We went out to lunch with my friend Kara, and hung out for a bit in town. Also went shopping at Fred Meyer and stocked my fridge back up since I was running low on some things. Then they went to check into their hotel and I went back to my dorm and took a nap for a couple hours. Deborah learned how to crochet a while ago, so she decided to teach Kara and I, so we had a little crocheting circle in Kara's dorm with Kara, my dad, Deborah, Loren and I. It was pretty cool, although I have to say I'm still more of a knitter than a crocheter.
Then Loren came over and we finally finished watching Boondock Saints on his laptop in my room, and then we watched Pan's Labyrinth, which was a really good strange movie! Didn't fall asleep until about 3 in the morning. This morning I met Dad and Deborah in Starbucks and we sat and talked for about an hour. Then we went to the movie theatre and saw 2012. I had no desire to see that movie at first, since I don't really like disaster movies, but I have to admit that as far as disaster movies go, that one was pretty good. I still don't believe all that is going to happen, but twas a good movie all the same.
It kind of makes you think though. If the world was ending like that what would you do? Where would you go? Would you fight for your life even though it's probably all going to end anyway, or would you accept it and face the fact that you were going to die and then just sit in your living room and watch out the window as the world crumbles around you? Curious. I don't know what I would do. I would probably accept it and watch.
Tonight is homework night. Not sure how much I have to do, but it shouldn't take too long hopefully :)

SNOW!!
It has been snowing on and off here all day! The flakes are tiny, and not really enough of them to do much, but at least it's a start :)
Had a debate today in history about Andrew Jackson and the second-party system. It could have gone much better, but I didn't really take adequate time to prepare for it so it ended up being a very short debate. There was a lot more I could have said and more research I could have done, but oh well, at least it's over with now!
Dad and Deborah are coming up here to visit tomorrow! Hopefully the pass won't be too bad for them, but they do have Deborah's Subaru so I think they'll be ok. It's been dumping snow up there all day! 6 inches just since 5 a.m. this morning! I'm going to spend the rest of my time until English class at 3 cleaning up my room so it doesn't look too bad when they get here. Right now my desk is a mess; you can barely even see the top of it! But that's the way I like it :)
Think snow y'all! Oh, and happy Friday the 13th mwahahaha!

The Summer Set +Cartel = AWESOME night!
So last night, my friends Kara, Loren, and I went to a small venue in Seattle called El Corazon to see a couple of our favorite bands. We couldn't find it at first, so we parked and walked around in circles in the rain looking for it, until we stopped and asked directions and found out that we had only parked a block away from the place to begin with, we had just started walking in the wrong direction.
By the time we got to El Corazon, we were soaked and freezing. Luckily it was super crowded and warm inside! We didn't know the first band that played, so we stood near the back trying to dry off. Then the second band that played was one of my new favorite bands, The Summer Set, and they were AWESOME! Their music is really bouncy and fun to jump to, so we stepped further into the crowd and jumped around with everyone. We were still close to the back though, so every once in awhile I would step out of the crowd of people to catch my breath.
The next band that played was called This Providence, and they were pretty cool. I hadn't heard any of their music before, but they were really good, so I think I'm going to start listening to them. After that band was Kara's favorite band Cartel. We pushed our way up to the front for this one since Kara liked them so much and wanted to be closer. It was at this point that I found out that I am a LOT more claustrophobic than I ever thought I was. Even though we weren't too packed in, I was having a really hard time breathing, and then my brain started going into worst-case-scenario mode where I started thinking about all the most terrible things that could possibly happen and I couldn't stop myself. I was thinking things like, what if the roof collapses? What if there's a fire? What if I fall and get trampled? and those sorts of things. We stayed for about 5 or 6 songs, and then I started to get really dizzy and Kara's back hurt from standing for 3 hours, so we left early. I was tense and shaky for the rest of the night, even when we got back to Kara's house.
Overall, I'm glad that I went and got to see The Summer Set. I really like them, and it was super cool to see them! The whole claustrophobic-panic-attack thing kind of ended the night on a not so great note, but it's ok. Now I know for next time that unless I'm at an outdoor venue, I shouldn't get that close to the front of the stage!

back at e-burg!
Went home this weekend, got to see one of my besties Ben, who goes to Western. It was so nice to hang out with him again, it's been so long!
This week is going to be a busy one. Philosophy exam tomorrow, then a concert on tuesday... No school wednesday; I'll probably be using that day to prepare for a debate in my history class on friday. Then on friday or Saturday, dad and Deborah are coming over for a visit! I'm super excited, I really miss seeing dad every wednesday...
I haven't made anything in my crockpot yet, but I'm planning on going to Fred Meyer sometime this week to pick up some ingredients for something yummy! :)

halloween fun!
So this weekend has been pretty awesome!

That's Kara and I being rave girls before the dance :)
On Friday, there was the Halloween costume dance. My boyfriend and I decided not to go as Peter Pan and Wendy, instead we just got all dressed up like we were going to a rave. We broke glowsticks and poured them on our clothes, which was REALLY cool because we glowed all night long, but man, that stuff smells terrible! After the dance, we went back to Kara's dorm and played Mario Party 8 on the Wii and watched some movies. Didn't go to bed until about 2:30.
Today, we didn't do much. Kara and Loren and I went shopping at Fred Meyer for some healthy food, since I've been eating pretty much nothing but candy lately and would like to get out of that habit. I got more oatmeal, a block of cheese, some apples, chips and salsa, and carrots and some other yummy things to snack on! No more candy for me for awhile! It's hard to not eat candy when we have the dollar store so nearby and I can get tons of candy for really cheap.

That's us before the corn maze in our awesome halloween sweaters we got from goodwill!
Then on Saturday we went to a haunted corn maze in Yakima! It was so scary, because it was dark and there were people hiding in the corn with creepy masks on and some of them had chainsaws and they would chase us all over the place! We went in with a group of 5, but when we were being chased we all got split up so that it was my friend Rose, Kara, and Thomas together and me and Loren together wandering around looking for each other. The group of 3 got out of the maze pretty soon, but Loren and I wandered around for about 20 minutes looking for them. After the maze, we went to Target and ran around for a bit, then to Dairy Queen and got ice cream and french fries. When we got back to Kara's dorm we watched a couple movies and stayed up until about 4 in the morning.Today, we didn't do much. halloween is coming!
Tonight there's a costume dance here but I don't have a costume! So my friends and I are going to go to goodwill and see what we can find. My boyfriend and I are planning to dress up as Peter Pan and Wendy, but depending on what we find I might be Tinkerbell instead. We'll see how it goes!
Then tomorrow, we are going to wear reallyugly awesome Halloween sweaters and knee high Halloween socks all day and go to a haunted corn maze in Yakima (hopefully). After that we're planning on staying up all night watching movies.
Who knows what we're going to do Sunday... So far no plans have been made. We'll seeeee!
Hope everyone has a fantastical Halloween!

This weekend was homecoming weekend! I feel even more tired from the weekend than I usually do from the week...
On Friday there was the homecoming dance. The theme was dance through the decades, so they played music from the 60's all the way to the 90's, intermixed with an occasional newer song. It was soooo fun! We danced until the dance was over at midnight, then went back to my friend Kara's dorm and watched Sleeping Beauty. Didn't get to bed until about 2 in the morning.
Then Saturday it was Kara's birthday, so I got up at about 10 and walked to Safeway to get her a chocolate cake. My friend Loren and I wrote her name on it in frosting. Then we all went to the football game. Loren and I left at half time so we could sneak into Kara's dorm and put up streamers, but our attempt at a surprise party failed because she came back before we could finish setting up. Once she came back, Kara, Loren, and I went and got a movie and when we got back to the dorm we had cake and opened presents. Then we watched a couple movies and once again, I didn't go to bed until about 1 in the morning.
Today was my friend Loren's birthday! Kara and I blew up a ton of balloons and threw them all around in my room, then invited him over and we all hung out in my room for a bit. Then we went and ate dinner at the cafe near my dorm and then we went to Kara's to play some video games for a bit. Then Loren had to leave because his roommate was taking him out for a birthday dinner, so Kara and I sat around for a couple more hours and played Guitar Hero.
And now I have been studying for my history midterm for the past couple hours. I think I'm going to go to bed now though, there's not much more preparing I can do.
UGH and I missed office hours AGAIN so I didn't get a chance to pick up the package my amazing grandparents sent me! These office hours are so inconvenient, it's RIGHT during the time when I'm either eating dinner with my friends or doing some activity on campus. Oh well, I shall plan to get it on Tuesday, since tomorrow during office hour time I will be at monday movie night in the student union.

philosophy
In my philosophy class we have been talking a lot lately about the end of the universe. My professor takes the stance that Tolstoy takes in his piece, "My Confession", where he talks about life being like the parable of the well, with a dragon at the bottom, a beast at the top and man clinging to a tiny branch in between. Tolstoy basically says that the inevitable death ruins the goodness in life, which in the well scenario would be honey on the branch to which man clings. My professor takes this stance. He seems to think that if we're all going to die anyway, why do anything?
A friend of mine brought up a good point though, that I can't seem to get off my mind. He said, if we're all going to die anyway, why not do all we can? I love this idea, and it's been floating around in my head for a while now. I can't seem to let it go, so I just keep thinking about it. I think that experiences are all we'll have when we go off to another place after death, so why not take some good ones along? And even if we don't go anywhere after death, if we just lay in the ground and rot, at least someone still living might remember us for living life to the fullest every day and maybe they'll make an attempt to do so as well.

Then we went to fred meyer and goodwill to shop for some stuff for halloween and to get a soccer ball, since nobody in our group of friends has one. We played soccer for about an hour and then we went and ate dinner and now I'm back at my dorm doing homework!

pumpkins and bo burnham!!
Carved pumpkins this weekend! They turned out really great! I brought one back to college with me, I'm going to put it in my window with a glowstick in it since we can't have open flame in the dorms.
On saturday my friend Loren and I helped out with Kailea's birthday party up at the ranch. She's basically my favorite camper EVER, she's so nice and helpful!
ALSO on saturday my friends and I went to a comedian's concert and we got to meet him!!!!

rain rain rain
It's finally started raining here! Up until yesterday it hadn't rained at all since I got here. It also snowed a little, but since it wasn't quite cold enough, none of it stuck.
Yesterday was definitely one of the most epic days of college so far. One of my friends, Tom, is playing indoor soccer. So a couple of my friends and I went to Fred Meyer to get white t-shirts to make Team Tom shirts with so we can cheer him on from the stands. Right next to Fred Meyer is the Ellensburg Goodwill, so we stopped in there for a bit too. We ended up finding reallybad AWESOME festive sweaters for Halloween, and since they were only four dollars each we all got one. Wait 'till you see the pictures from Halloween, it will be epic! After that we went to the Dollar Store and had all sorts of fun there!
Today is going to be very busy. I have 2 classes, which will be over by 11, and then I need to study for a big philosophy exam and then go to the library to write a paper and then go to my friend's dorm to make our Team Tom shirts and then go workout and then go to Tom's game tonight. Somewhere in there I'll maybe find some time to eat???

Rice Cooker Recipes
Since I have a rice cooker and it's easy to clean and cook in, I've been looking up recipes of things to make in just a rice cooker. I have a macaroni recipe that I'm very excited to try, just have to go to the store to get noodles, cheese, and milk.
Weekend was good, hung out with my friends and watched Disney movies!
The weather is getting colder and colder here, I love it! I took some pictures of the leaves and whatnot yesterday because the orange and red leaves are so pretty right now!

Played intense Spoons and Egyptian Rat last night! It was so fun, I was actually winning for a change! Then the 5 of us who played went up to Kara's and watched The Office, which was AWESOME.
This morning Kara and I went to the Rec Center and worked out. Ran for a bit, lifted weights for a bit. I feel reeeaaal good now! I think that's pretty much it for news...

Exciting News!
There was a job fair for the Summit at Snoqualmie today in the Ballroom here at Central, and so my friend and I went in with our applications all filled out and ready to go. There were a lot of people there so we had to wait in line to get interviewed, but it wasn't too bad. I sat down to talk to the guy about being a ticket scanner (the person who stands in the line and makes sure everyone has paid to be there haha) and he looked through my application and talked to me for about 2 minutes and then said, "Congratulations, you get the job!"
So my first day is November 21st!! I'm so excited, now I can better pay for next quarter AND I get a free lift pass, so I ski free!!! Best day of college so far? I think yes!!!

only one class today
Yesterday and today, my philosophy class was cancelled because the professor has been sick! So today I only had one class, which was history and the rest of the day I've spent cleaning up my room since it's gotten pretty messy. I'll post some pictures eventually when I get around to taking some, but don't hold your breath! haha

Weekend
I went home this weekend! My dog was soooo happy to see me, I feel bad leaving him again.
Friday night we went to a family friend's house and she made delicious dinner and we talked about college and her husband bought us all nike sweatshirts! Mine is really pretty light green and it's warm and soft and I'm really happy about it! On Saturday, mom and I went to Fred Meyer, where I bought a purple jacket to keep me warm in the winter time. Also on Saturday, my friends and I went up to Monroe to see Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3-D, then we bought some yarn in ben franklin and I taught my friend Erin how to knit while we baked Halloween cookies back at Kara's house. It was really fun!
Today I went to my brother's soccer game. They lost pretty bad, but it was still a fun game to watch because all the player's on Nick's team are pretty good now, so it was at least entertaining! Then I went to the Mac Store to see about getting a new iPod, which should be coming in a couple of weeks! YAY!
And now I'm back in Ellensburg! I really like it here, the scenery is amazing and fun to take pictures of because the sky is so dramatic - especially around sunrise and sunset!
Some of my sentences may be a bit mixed up and run-ons, but I'm in a hurry to get to homework before bedtime!

funfun
Last night was really fun. After my last class of the day was over at 1, I went back to my room and ate a cup of noodles because I wasn't feeling too well, and my other friends were still in class. Then at about 7, my friend Kara and I were planning on meeting at her place to watch another scary movie, and then my favorite TV show The Office.
Instead of watching the scary movie, we sat in the crowded cafeteria and played some very intense card games with some guys we had just met. Then at about 8 we decided to play Extreme Spoons, or Suicide Spoons which is a REALLY fun way to play, look it up if you want to know more, it's hard for me to explain!
Then at 9, we all went to Kara's room and watched The Office and the show that comes on after it and then I rode my bike back to my room which is REALLY far away from everything, it's up in the corner of campus by the football field. When I got home, I found out that there's a creepy guy stalking girls on campus, which just totally freaked me out since I'm out here in the corner of campus not near anything!!
So needless to say, I won't be staying out after dark too much more in the near future...

new sweatshirt!
Today I bought a new sweatshirt in the store because I wanted one that said CWU across it really big. It's red with black letters.
All my classes were pretty good today. In philosophy I came to the conclusion that basically what the meaning of life boils down to is only what you can make of it for yourself. Basically, everyone's meaning is different. I could say the meaning of life for myself is to help others understand something. But that isn't necessarily the meaning for your life. We can't generalize anything broad enough to apply it to everyone or all life. My thoughts on this might change, but for now that's what I'm thinking.
I'm going over to my friend's dorm to watch more horror movies in a few minutes. I just finished a paper, and I'm going to be doing a lot of reading for history tonight after the movie. yaaay
Working out this morning was really fun! Planning on doing it again friday

horror galore
In honor of the month of Halloween, my friend Kara and I have been renting cheap old horror movies from the Hollywood Video down the street. We rented Silence of the Lambs, House of Wax, An American Werewolf in London, and Jigsaw. Today we watched Silence of the Lambs and Jigsaw. Jigsaw is definitely one of the worst horror films I've ever seen, which isn't entirely surprising since they only had 5000 dollars or something like that to make the movie, but the acting is just so terrible. Kara and I laughed about it the entire time.
In other news, classes have been going well! Yesterday my English professor didn't show up for class, so we all left! And today I only had two classes, which was nice. I was able to organize my room a bit and take out the trash and recycling. The weather is starting to get chilly and windy and cloudy! I was actually able to wear a sweater and boots today without being too hot in the afternoon! Apple cider season has officially begun!
I think that's about all the news I have for today... Write more tomorrow! ...or whenever I get some new news...
Oh yeah, yesterday Kara and I went to the rec center and worked out for about 40 minutes. We're doing it again tomorrow, so I'll be up SUUUPER early which is why I'm going to bed so early tonight! Goodnight!

Sunday/Monday!
Sunday was a pretty good day. My friends had to do laundry, so I went with them and played some epic games of Spoons and Egyptian Rat on the floor. Last night, my friend Kara and I decided to ride our bikes around and try to find the Safeway here in town, so we were riding around town in the dark for about two hours! It was pretty fun.
Philosophy class this morning was pretty interesting, although I had a reaaaalllyyy bad headache, so it was hard to speculate about the meaning of life at 9 in the morning. I think it made my headache worse... Haha and then history class was finished about half an hour early so here I am, back at my dorm trying to make my headache go away! Woooooo
Don't have another class until 3, so maybe I'll try to read a little in my philosophy book? Maybe, we shall see.

Friday Night!
Yesterday after all my classes, my friends and I went to a barbecue at the same place that the rootbeer kegger was held! It was super fun, free hamburgers and chips and cookies and soda! After we ate, then we got about 10-12 people in the backyard and played volleyball which I haven't played in about five years, so it wasn't the best game ever, but it was still a ton of fun!
Eventually it got to be so dark that we couldn't really see the ball anymore, so my friends and I decided to go back to their dorm and watch Terminator 2. By the end of it, it was about 10:30, and since I live so far away from everything else, my friends walked me back to my dorm, where I found out that the power had gone out. So friends went back to their dorm, and I sat in the lounge with some people for about 2 hours waiting for it to come back on. But at 12:30, a group of girls were heading up to bed, so I tagged along with them (I would've gone sooner, but I was afraid of the dark...and terminators) and went to bed with a glowstick.
The power was on when I woke up this morning, so that's all good now! The same friends from last night and I are having homemade french toast (courtesy of Rosie!) in their dorm! I'm bringin' the orange juice and lemonade! Vitamin C! We don't want to get swine flu. We already think one of my other friends might have swine flu, because he smokes hookah and we're pretty sure that's where he got it from. Don't smoke hookah people! Tis bad for you.
Oh and also I posted a new poem on fictionpress.com/~dragonzz. I wrote it september 13th but just now decided to post it, so go check it out and read it and review it because I think it's one of my personal favorites out of all the poems I've written lately.

new day, new friends
Made a new friend today from my university class! Then I met all her friends from her dorm and we had lunch together and it was really fun!
In other news, I really can't wait for it to start getting cold and snowy. I'm getting a little tired of waking up sweating because my room is too hot. I'd much rather be too cold than too hot.

First day of classes!
3 classes today, here's how they went.
9-9:50 a.m. philosophy:
I was extremely early because I wasn't sure how long it would take me to walk to the building so I had to stand outside the class for about half an hour waiting, but it ended up not being too bad. Then when the professor got there, he started telling jokes and was really funny and we didn't really talk about too much philosophy since it's only the first day, but he did say we would jump right into it tomorrow.
10-10:50 a.m. history:
This class is in a classroom with theatre-esque seats, making it difficult to take notes and stuff. But the teacher seemed nice enough and funny. The only thing that makes me nervous about this class is that he said we would be doing a lot of debates, which I've never been very good at, but I suppose I have to get confident with it eventually... I'm excited for this class though, because it's american history up to the year 1865, which is my favorite time period of our history to learn about so this will be a good class.
After those classes, I didn't have another one until 3 in the afternoon so I came back to my dorm and dropped off some stuff and rode my bike over to my friend's dorm to meet up with her for lunch. Then we went to english class together since we are in the same class. The teacher in this class is REALLY young and I can't wait to see what sort of fresh ideas he has for the class.
Tomorrow my schedule is a little different. 9-9:50, philosophy. 10-10:50, history, then 12-12:50, university 101, which is a class required for all freshman. We'll see how it goes. Tomorrow I'll be done with all my classes by 1! So glad!

Today my friends and I rode our bikes around and I had to go to the bank to get checks to pay for first quarter and it was very frustrating but we finally figured it all out and I was able to use my connection card to eat lunch in the cafeteria thing for the first time since I got here! Exciting.
Found where all my classes are today also! They aren't too hard to find so I'm not too worried for class tomorrow... I'm actually really excited for classes to start! It'll give me something to do besides ride bikes all day (which is nice, just need a break in that routine).
A friend and I are planning on working out in the mornings before our classes in the rec center here starting next monday! I'm going to have to get up super early for that since my first class is at nine in the morning!
Going to Fred Meyer tonight to get some stuff! Wooooo!

INTERNET!!!
So, I FINALLY got my internet to work! I've completely moved in and all is well!
I've been getting a TON of exercise between riding my bike to my friend's dorm, going up and down stairs, and walking to the bathroom which is all the way at the other end of the hall for me, but that's ok because I LOVE COLLEGE! It's so nice to not have people telling me what to do, especially since I'm one of those people who just likes to do my own thing most of the time.
All in all, it's absolutely fantastic and I love it! Classes start on wednesday, I might post pictures soon if I can. We shall see!
Oh yeah, and I got my books today too. I have 9 of them. Two are really big and the rest are all quite small, so it won't be tooooo bad to carry around, assuming I don't need all of them everyday for each class.
In other news, I went to a rootbeer kegger the other night and it was the greatest thing ever. I sat around in some college kids' basement drinking rootbeer with upperclassmen and talking about college life and what we want to be when we leave here and basically just met a TON of super cool people! Hoping to go hiking with them soon, and also hoping to go river rafting with some friends soon as well.

So I've been packing up for college the last few days, and I'm beginning to worry that I might have too much stuff. I have about 13 boxes (some are small though) and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to find places for all of my stuff in my dorm!!
Ugh. I wish the school website had better pictures of the rooms.
In other news, I took some pictures of my kitten today!
